Whining for Gold

Whining for Gold

Could some one explain to large portions of the Australian Media that it is NOT a national tragedy if Grant Hackett and other athletes get Silver or Bronze instead of GOLD?

Yes it would have been great if he had a set of three gold medals but this obsession with how many gold medals ANY nation wins is UNHEALTHY.

Considering the amount of training and preselection and testing competitors have to go thru to reach the Olympics at all whining about how many gold medals is in bad taste and unfair to the other athletes.

Please lets celebrate them all!

Just getting to the Olympics is a victory in itself!

What counts is not the number of medals but the excellence of performance that enabled our teams and individuals to get to Beijing!

Finally spare a thought for the Paralympics - its their turn next!
