When Green & Purple Works!

April 29th 2007 08:03
Yesterday I saw Green and Purple combined in an outfit in a way that actually worked!

Why!? Like normally its a fashion crime to combine the two!!!

I was at the traffic lights waiting to cross the road and a younger Indian woman was standing in front of me. She had a Northern Indian styl ewoollen shawl/wrap over a long tunic and pants and I could just see the edge of another scarf or an undershirt under the tunic over the edge of the tunic.

The tunic was a beautiful pink violet hue. The top of the undershirt showing over the light brown wrap was striped green and purple and blue.

It could have looked hideous on anyone but worked perfectly on this young Indian woman cos all the colors balanced with each other!

Oh and yes the green and other colros in the edge showing were darker than the pink violet!

You can get green and purple in work in combination BUT only if you have a well cultivated sense of color balance and one of the colors should be lighter or darker than the other or there's a third intermediate hue tint or shade of blue!

What do you think?!
