Welcome to Scholia - Opinions Notes and Observations
February 11th 2007 23:08
Welcome to the first of my Scholia!
Scholia is a Greek word meaning marginal note or scribble, and I certainly feel like I'm on a margin or edge looking in at the blogging scene.
I'll try to avoid "Thought of the Day" unless its a response to something going on that seems significant to me.
There may be "fun facts" about obscure and interesting poets or works of art or philosophers who deserve more attention or I might just talk about my artwork or whats on in Aussie museums. (Woohoo that Tezuka exhibition coming up in March looks HOOOT!) Or I might just type something ironic about public affairs!
Or do a book review?
Tired of the whole UN intelligent design / creationists VERSUS aggro atheists thing?
Maybe you accept evolution as a theory but do also have spiritual beliefs?
Read Joan RoughGarden's Book !
EVOLUTION AND CHRISTIAN FAITH
This is written by an actual evolutionary biologist who's an Episcopal - thats the Amercian Equivalent of Anglican folks!
Her book is thoughtful logical and based on science and explains why intelligent design shouldnt be taught in schools as science but also deals with a wide variety of other issues!
If you've read this book pleas add a comment.
Please however do not add any anti or pro evolution remarks UNLESS you have read the book FIRST?
Next time maybe a blog on sapphic fragments? Wanna know what they are? Visit again for inisghts and explanation and opinions from some who actually reads AEOLIC GREEK!
I also have a Geocities website
Link to my Geocities Site
