The Art of Perving at Members of the Opposite Sex

September 14th 2006 22:39
The best way of doing this is to wear dark sunglasses or mirrors and never actually move your head, just the eyes! As a guy, this is the way to achieve the ultimate glance. I am left pondering whether the female actually notices you noticing them. Some avoid looking at you completely, is this because they disapprove of what that guy is doing? Also I wonder whether wearing sunnies is more or less obvious than not wearing them? It gets really awkward when your target realises they are being used as eye candy and you quickly look away, ashamed.

It seems that some situations are worse for such a simplistic pastime. The beach is a place where you could have a field day, but is generally considered a handle with care zone, on the train when you are positioned directly infront of an attractive member of the opposite gender is considered fine.

Guys do usually respond to visual stimuli. This is making life increasingly difficult for red blooded males as fashion and music videos have dictated that women should wear less and show more flesh than ever before. Males being visual beings are caught between trying to avoid appearing like a peeping tom type pervert and seeming like a sleazy creature. It is tough!

Do females check out guys in the same way? Or are they too sophisticated for such measures? What do they do instead?

Finally if a female likes the guy noticing her, what are the signs that she will give?

Dear social commentator,

Out of curiosity... why didn't you post this in your normal blog?

Because I thought that when I got upgraded to an actual .com blog, that my old blog socially awkward situations would merge into this new one!

Ah... I didn't notice you'd changed to a .com domain.

Congrats!

Did Jon/Cibby/someone write you an e-mail out of the blue and offer you the .com?

It was actually Jasmine, so I am now part of the .com fraternity.
