Suggestions for Chinese Phrase Books
Seems to me judging from certain events during the Games Journalists and Tourists might benefit from having the following phrases and sentences added to books.
"Tibet? Never heard of it Officer!"
"NO Officer I was going to do a "I LUV CHINA " wall mural with this spray paint!"
"No officer I was filming the hutong being torn down to show how progressive China is!"
"But abseiling is an Olympic event isnt it?"
"Flag what flag? This one with the ... I bought it at the markets!"
"Why is the official protest park empty?"
"Did that gymnast say I am sooo 14 er 16 er ..."
"Yes of course I agree!
It's your party and the Tibetans should just shut up.
NOW can I have my visa?"
"Me? Mug a ticket tout? My only child is competing and I cant afford tickets on top of air fare. The poor man just tripped over while offering a mob of desperate mothers FREE tickets since he couldnt sell them. Of course it was an accident Officer!"
(Okay that last one didnt probably didnt happen but it should have!)
Finally all politics aside a big thank you to every one involved in the Opening Ceremony!
I think most of us can agree to agree it was simply gorgeous!
