This poem was exactly written in 1990 but it perfectly matches todays stormy weather!
Its 5:30 June 8 and the wind is howling and we're one of the lucky suburbs that didnt get a power outage in Sydney and its been raining ALL day!

each battered leaf a tattered straggler
loser in the battle against winter
to go going now gone
for beggars who shall mourn?
