The 10 Mahavidyas
IN Europe we have the Nine Muses. In India there is a group of goddesses of learing and knowledge called the ten Mahavidya or Mahadevi who depending on which book you read are Shakti of either Brahma or Shiva.

One thing I like about Tantric art, Hindu or Buddhism, is the ues of male demons to symbolize ignorance and vices!
The Ten Mahavidya are:
B(h)agalamukhi also called Vagala, Bhaivari ,Bhuvanesvari ,Chinnamastika, Dhumavati , Kamala, S(h)odas(h)i, Kali, Tara and Matangi .
Some versions of the lists include a Tripura Sundari which may be an alternate name for Vagala. You will come across several spelling variations of these names.
