Scipio's Dream

Scipio's Dream.
Scipio's Dream, Somnium Scipionis, is one of those pieces of literature many other writers refer to but rarely read. It is one of the earliest representative Latin and European writings of the DREAM VISION genre. Many critics cite it while commenting on later Dream Vision literature but do not mention it is part of a longer work.
Scipio's Dream if you either need tor ead it is actually the final section of Cicero's De RE Publica, Book V1, IX - XXVI . Book 6, Part 9-26.
It purports to be Scipio's account of a dream vision of one of his ancestors telling him about the heavens and virtue.
I have just reread it in the Loeb edition borrowed from the library.
Its in Vol. XVI of the Collected Works.
Given the popularity of Cicero you can probalbly find this online somewhere as a free text in both Latin and English.
some quotes:
"above the Moon all things are eternal"
" supra lunam sunt aeterna omnia."
"the spirit is the true self"
"that which is always in motion is eternal"
"quod semper movetur, aeternum est"
I hope I have tempted you to read more?
