Sansui
March 6th 2007 03:41
I'm posting twice today !
To make up for some of the times I havnt been able to ... like during the storm yesterday evening.
There's an Asian art stlye called SanSui in Japanese - litterally Mountain Water ... this term is usually translated as Landscape!
I occasionally do watercolors in this style both monochromes and in color.
Given that I generally use color the effect was probably more like bunjinga or rimpa.
This particular piece ... if it downloads was originally color ... I gave the original to some one else as a gift and kept a photocopy. As an experiment I scanned the photocopy and recolored it in dark blue.
Enjoy!
I have a whole portofolio of sansui works on paper for sale if anyone reading this this is a gallery owner or collector !
Excuse me mentioning that but you never know ... this might be my lucky day and a major dealer is lurking ... I wish!!! I sent to a portfolio to one gallery on a cd rom and the only response was a we'll let you if we're interested blah blah ...
