A Song dynasty Ru Glaze Bowl


It's just another celadon bowl? Right? Yes and No.

Several type sof Celadon glazes were developed during the Song dynasty, Yue, Long quan, Qing bai, Jun, and RU. RU however is one of the rarest, a bueatiful blue green. There are currentlyy only 70 authenticated Song dynasty RU glaze items including shards from an archaeological dig! Yes that few!


There are later Ming and Qing RU celadons but the shapes generally differ.

Such a simple elegant thing and yet so rare!
