PACIFIC BRANDS AND OUTSOURCING
March 19th 2009 06:53
I think one of the reasons apart from me being busy doing a course that I havnt blogged since last weekend is that I am truly annoyed that no one has taken up my invitation to comment on the Pacific Brands situation, be they a fashion or politics blogger!
Come on some one on Orble or out there in the blogosphere must have thoughts or feelings about textile workers in Australia losing jobs cos Pacific Brands and other manufacturers are or have moved off shore?
Why are the Autumn fashion shows more important than the plight of Aussie workers?
Tell me some one? Anyone?
I'ld like to hear that say fashion models and designers contacted the textile workers union and asked if they could invest in a workers co-op to buy the factories and retrain the workers to sew both haute couture and ready to wear.
I'ld like to hear designers and models were promoting ready to wear work wear not jsut ofr the office but everywhere that is
Comfortable
Stylish
Functional
MADE in Australia
Why dont fashionistas care about textile workers?
