The Australian Ceramics Trienniale Has Started!
As well as a conference dozens of wonderful shows of contmeporary ceramics, functional and so less are displaying glorious objects crafted from clay in galleries around the city!
The NAS galleries have ceramics from Korea and a show of Peascod's works.
The Legge Gallery at Redfern has Functional Ceramics by noted ceramicists including Oribe specialist Natalie mt TAFE teacher and no I didnt mention her as a suckup but apaprt form her being one of my teachers its good to see some Oz potters using Oribe as many of us tend to be or get obsessed with the "holy grail" of "wood fired ware".
An anagama is fine if you live out in the bush surrounded by an abundance of firewood with clay and other mineral deposits within easy distnace but many of us just dont and cant afford that! We just just have to envy Steve Harrison's glazed bowls also on display!
So that's Really Long Link
