NARA ...
and why Japanese needs Kanji!

nara oak quercus serrata
Nara Leaves Quercus Serrata

While it is possible to most if not all Jpanese words with Kana many of them are written with Kanji or a combination of Kanji and Kana especially verbs.

But the complexity of Jpanese verb endings is probably not the only or main reason Japanese needs a amixture of Kana and Kanji.

Consider the large number of SYNONYMS.

Nara is a good example!

(Ko) NARA is

1) the name of a kind of Oak Quercus Serrata
written with 3 different Kanji!

2) another form of naraba ... if ... in that case ... conditional marker

3) A City near Kyoto

4) the radical of several verbs Naraberu narabini narabu
narasu naru narau

and that selection is a summary of more common forms!

No wonder the Japanese use Kanji!
