Two Shino Test Bowls

2 shino bowls
J. Vaux 2009

No these are not meant to be brilliant works of craft.

These are two test bowls also known as pinch pots used to test glazes and develop glazing skills. I thought it worthwhile to share the image cos they also show how versatile the reactions of a shino felspathic glaze can be to clay and slip.

One bubbled ( it was double dipped) the other is quite smooth and both have "firechange" kiln effects. I'm about to do a large jug in Shino in a couple of weeks (it hasnt even been bisqued yet ... I'll show you what Shino looks like on a larger object soon.
