Mamma Mia!
The Movie is oddly sweet!
I was watching it for the first time on TV last night and found it strangely enjoyable. I had planned to turn it off if it turned out to be too silly but the casting made the songs and story work!
Yes its got cliches yet also parody and irony and the use of older less than perfect voices actually gives the lyrics more life and character and dare I say it ... depth?
Mind you the "depth" is like the difference between hot popcorn with real butter and cold dyed sugar popcorn perhaps but ...
If you need or want something light to view that's well crafted and fun you could do far worse than this despite the use of Abba lyrics!
