Low Relief without Photoshop
Sooo like me you only have Gimp? Wanna get a low relief effect?
Kastellar has a certain elegance but you need to change it so it stands out a bit more. Try using the Colorize tool and the Blended DropShadows I've posted about before and you'll get something like this :
I also resized the base layer BEFORE I changed the color and added just a little Drop Shadow and then blended all the layers. No its not spectacular prize winning typography but with the right BG added should make a good Title Header for a Cover of a Print out or a Web Page?
Yes its a slower way of working but unlike a macro or plugin or filter you control see and edit every single change.
Besides maybe like me you still havnt bought that new MAC or Adobe Photoshop Suite cos you just paid off the mid year health fund bills and course fees for ceramics materials or a bit more off the credit card?
Hope these images give you some ideas?
P.S. the original was actually a little smaller than what's showing on my screen and browser so don't forget to view this at a couple of different sizes!
I may go back and Sharpen this a bit!
