IRON MAN 2
Yes it's fun!
Australia got Iron Man2 early so I have to think of what to say other OZ bloggers havnt yet?! Okay its fun! Despite what some bloggers say I only noticed a couple of places where the CGI and SFX were let us say less than smooth and a little obvious however only a little.
Lots of in joke references to various pieces of Iron Man "history" including a wicked reference to a certain infamous cartoon in a sight gag in which Iron Man ends up in his head in an oven.
Rhodes' method of getting the War Machine armor differs from the oldest comic version but works well with the movie.
The action and stunt choreography is as awesomely seductive in quality as the first movie. Like its visual popcorn yes you have to love the craft!
And the craft from the actors as well.
Rourke doesnt just recap his wrestler role as some have suggested.
The character may look like a Russian verison of a biker thug but has a glitter of powerful intelligence in his eyes.
Little touches like his relationship with his pet parrot and the sly look in his eyes when he delibarately pretends not to be fully fluent in English to fool Hammer stand out amongst many.
Rockwell's Hammer is fun almost a parody of Stark with his I wannabe Stark routine.
Don Cheadle is excellent too.
Oh this Black Widow is not just a pinup girl despite the poses shown in the movie PR. She has a certain fierce intelligence and focus whether she's fighting Hammer's security or pretending to be an office worker from Legal!
Some people complained about the robot fight finale but I think what they should be complaining about is whether or not Favreau is doing his wierd I'm supporting the US military while also taking a swipe to the whole military industrial complex thing! Is that hypocrisy or social satire or what?
Anyway the movie certainly demonstrates why its a good thing the US hasnt perfected war drones droids in real life yet!
There's lots of other good stuff I could point out but I don't want to spoil it for you!
Look its fun! Just go and enjoy it!
And yes you do have to sit thru all the credits before you get the view of a certain piece of godly tech!
