This may not interest everyone however ... one of the things or rather sightings that gets my day off to a good start is a RED DOG SIGHTING!
My unit window overlooks Pretoria Parade and approx 7:30 AM a man who always wears a cap and lives somewhere down Pretoria Parade walks his dog. So what you ask? Many people walk their dogs in the morning. True I see labradors cattlrdogs kelpies terriers cross breds but the special one for me is "RED DOG".
(My apologies here to the Mighty "TIMBO" my neighbours schnauzer! )
I dont know his or hers name but RED DOG is lovely "RED" dachshund healthy and trim and has that wonderful caliigraphic quality of the well and not inbred or overbred doxie.
A healthy dachshund despite their appearance of being a hound joiend to a terrier should have a smooth flowing gait when walking that reminds one of the movements of an asian calligraphy brush a smooth and elegant contuity.
Also there's just something darn cheerful about the way they briskly trot along!
I am not currently owned by a doxie but was for 17 years!
If any dachsie owners in the Hornsby area think they know this dachshund and their owner please send them my respectful greetings from a fan of RED DOG!
