HIZUMI
This is not a blog about a Japanese musician. The following blog may however explain why he chose that name? So even if you were looking for the muso read on?
HIZUMI means literally looking at the character NOT UPRIGHT.
I was researching it become the word hizumitari derived from this adjective is sometimes used to describe Oribe and other Japanese ceramics.
It can be translated as slanted crooked awry off kilter askew distorted or in its most negative sense and ugly and perverse.
The Unicode is 6B6A
In Japanese the On and Kun readings are WAI yugamu and hizumi.
In Chinese its WAI tone 1 Minnan oai 1 Cantonese me or waai Hakka and other dialects ve uai vai
Korean way or oy
Vietnamese Quay
Now that I've finished a major design project ( wish me luck with that folks) hopefully I'll have time while TAFE is on a short break to share more of my notes of Chinese characters and Asian languages with you.
Enjoy!
