Have You considered Prints?

Have you considered prints? I ask cos I noticed in this mornings' SMH that several galleries are having Xmas Sales? But why pay hundreds or thousnads of dollars for work that may or may not turn out to be valuable . Why not a print?
A decade or more ago Australia was noticed for its excellence in printmaking with artists producing some beautiful work as prints or posters using llithographic presses or aquatints or etching or silk screen art posters.
Nowadays most printing has gone digital. Textures once produced by hours of fiddling with chemicals and acids and inks can now be produced digitally. Possibly a good thing. those etching chemicals are murder on sensitive sinuses!
So if you're considering buying art for Xmas or over the New year cos you're redecorating this summer or just want something new check out the galleries now since many of them (presumably the ones making money) close for the January ( lucky sods!)
But dont forget online galleries like Red Bubble

Try to buy something beautiful for Xmas. Preferably from a local artist!
I had one Xmas wished granted. Hey I won Powerball last night. The grand sum of $22.80! (You're allowed to laugh) May at least one or more of your Xmas wishes be granted!
