GENETICALLY BLESSED?
A sure sign Fashion Week Approaches is the appearance of articles praising models as genetically blessed disciplined athletes and similar waffle.
Perhaps this wasn't the journalists' intention and some one else picked the photos but unfortunately the photo used of models to illustrate the article ONLY showed models clearly of an North West European background.
Oh someone overlooked the irony!?
Genetically blessed?
Well if models are genetically blessed with good bone structure and skin tones and other cliches then so is my frangipani tree or my neighbour's pet Schnauzer!
I am not going to name or shame the newspaper and journalist responsible save to say that newspaper appeared today in Sydney Saturday May One and it wasn't the Daily Telegraph.
I do wonder why so many tall slender North West European types tend to be regarded as genetically blessed by the industry in comparison to Africans Indians Arabs Asians and others?
The industry really has to get over its obsession with one body shape soon before it embarrasses itself further or its fans do it for fashion... yet again.
Genetically blessed?
I think not?
