Facebook Fashion and Fashionistas
Not a friendly combination?
I "friended" and "liked" several fashion pages on facebook but apart from a small minority of people I have received in response ads for sales that are allegedly status updates and absolutely NO interesting discussions about fashion design or art or contact with fellow designers.
On those pages that do have interactive walls and allow comments most of the comments are barely articulate squeals of oh a sale and i like/want that item that suggest admiring a new design requires limiting one's vocabulary to that of a five year old!
Why is this so? to quote julius sumner miller ...
oh and apparently its a sin to ask people to visit your page even if its to view a fractal fabric demo or other art?
i seem to have been blocked from one site without being told why?
i suspect my crime was to state i cant go to the winter sales on or offline but would love to buy certain designs AFTER I pay my medical bills and then silly me i told people i had unsold prints and posters and asked if they would consider visiting?
silly silly silly me thinking fashionistas might care or be concerned tha tI'm sitting here out of work until august with a broken arm in a sling and ...well if the artwork was all printed out it would fill the room and more.
Now a very small minority of people have been helpful but so far putting my work up on facebook hasnt lead to any sales of fabric or other surface design
Given the damage to my arm I'm going to need new clothes with looser sleeves and I've seen some lovely jersey knits online but fashion and fashionistas seem to have no heart for anything but shopping for themselves?

its so good NOT to learn a leading OZ designer or whoever runs her facebook page treats what i thought was a polite request for for advice /assistance as cause for blocking me not just from commenting but from even seeing their site.
How utterly mean!
Silly silly silly me thinking other people who own dachshunds might be people of compassion as well as elegance.
Oh if anyone is thinking a broken upper right serious problem i have been experiencing varying degrees of pain EVERY day since the accident 3 weeks ago! Great I probably have torn muscles under the now shrinking but still visiblr fracture bruise.
and folks thats just one story ... the behaviour of other professionals i've approached with fabric designs ... well i have a list and those people are probably never getting discounts or credit when the fabrics are finally printed for sale
If anyone would like to disprove my suspicion fashion has no heart i have literally dozens of fabric designs ready for viewing as jpgs
i am trying to arrange bankruptcy er somehow paying my bills while out of work with no sales of any kind of artwork and still finding the funds to print my scarf designs
oh what fun trying to sell art is ... especially to fashion designers !
now i muat go finish uploading my book reviews before the pain in my arm gets too bad again!

I'ld really like to see a response of oh my god you mean no one's ordered or bought ANY of your designs yet? what can i do to help?
