One of the pioneers noted for fashion shots and portraits was Dorothea Kallmus who started her career in Vienna and later moved to Paris.

Less known today since most of her work was black and white you're more likley to see reproductions of her work in books on the 1920s and 30s in Vienna and Paris. A pity!

Definitley Google search for more of her striking work!
