Dear Kev a Letter to our new Aussie PM
Dear Kev Wonderful job National Sorry day but its time to deal with other problems.
HOUSING
Yes housing as you may have noticed there's a national housing crisis.
No not just the one caused by flooding as the drought breaks.
The other one in the cities.
As you and many of us well remember certain hypocritical employers whined about the cost of wages and got togehter with the former govt to introduce "work place reforms" .
Right so maybe some people benefited from them largely employers though?
Hoooweeeveeer most of us just saw wages getting lower.
At the same time the cost of housing whether you were renting or buying kept going up!
Employers for some strange reason didnt seem to realise one of the reasons we complained about wages going dwon is that for some of us thos erates overtime allowances paid leave and other extras made the difference between survival and at least being slightly ahead with paying bills.
So Dear Kev whatever housing policy you bring in could it please help renters as well as buyers and help not just middle class house buyers but those of us who cant even think about a deposit.
Yes investment may or may not help the housing market but only at the upper levels.
so Kev any chance of a law that obliges builders to include community facilities and affordable housing in both housing developments and unit blocks?
Also when public properties are sold off for housing like former hospitals could the developers build group homes and hostels for the disabled and students?
