DC and Marvel "Crossovers" for 2009

February 8th 2009 15:05

DC and Marvel Events for 2009
I've been looking at the PR on Newsarama and the official and these seem to be the most interesting crossovers tie-ins and themes for 2009.

DC

Parts of Battle for the Cowl look promising especially the Oracle mini-series though you will hear the BoP fans shrieking shrilly if its stuffed up !

Lovers of cosmic events have the final parts of LSH 3 worlds to look forward to and the Blackest Night Green Lantern books. Plus there's World of Krypton.

Marvel.

Oh surprise surprise DC has a Crisis and temporal anomalies and ripples and what does marvel announce Timestorm 2009 ... mmm? Still could be interesting?

Parts of Dark Reign should fulfill the promise of a concept of an unlikely alliance between Dr.Doom, Prince Namor, Emma Frost, and Harry (Green Goblin) Osborne Senior to replace the Illuminati.

Space Opera fans who want wars of a literally inter-galactic scale should enjoy War of Kings in which the Inhumans, Shiar, Kree, and other interested aliens parties, factions, and politicians, wield ancient powers, blow up space ships and planets, settle some grudges, take revenge, etc etc etc.

As always since I certainly cant afford to buy and read all of these I'll be reading the Oracle miniseries and Wonder Woman and Secret Six.

Two spoilers for the latest Secret Six.

Floyd does something truly awful to the team and Jeanette is a supernatural being.

Sadly next month is the final issue of Birds of Prey for a while ... hopefully not too long a a while!

If you loathed Final Snafu er Crisis 7 check out the Legion of Three Worlds for a complex multi page ongoing fight thats choreographed oves the polt onwards and highlits major and minor characters ... perhaps Johns and Perez could mentor Morrison?

Hope you have some good reading to get you thru this hot weather if you're in Sydney or cold weather if you're in the Norhtern hemisphere or in the UK and snowed in?
