CHIKANOBU

You've heard of Hokusai and Hiroshige but they're not the only Ukiyo-e artists!

Here's a dragon theme print by Chikanobu!

The Daughter of the Dragon King Chikanobu Print

This 19th c. print by Yooshu Chikanobu (1838-1912) also known as Toyohara shows Princess Toyotami daughter of the Dragon King .

Chikanobu was a very prolific illustrator who worked in several Ukiyo-e genres doing history and legend theme prints along with bijin and shunga.

I noticed while researchng him that there is another Chikanobu who's an 18th c. KANO school painter and that some people confuse the two.

Enjoy the image!
