Why Smokers lost their rights
Here's some recent samples of the kind of behaviour that lead to smokers losing their "rights" to smoke and still continuing to have them limited further.
Before I go further I want to state my anti smoking bias is based on a history of chronic bronchitis which started to clear up when smoking started being banned and on the loss of several relatives to smoking related illnesses. Now I'm nursing a relative who didn't smoke but lived with a smoker and who has a lung tumor.
Its such fun NOT changing the dressings on her burn from the radiation treatment!
Samples
The "responsible adults" who apparently believe the smoking area starts six inches past the no smoking sign on the back pedestrian ramp from our local shopping centre.
Thanks I SOOO do not like walking thru your fumes on my way home!
The "young sooo NOT a LADY" who was walking along trailing smoke behind her into other people's faces and who when spoken to simply SMIRKED rudely. Yes smirked.
Hello just because you and other people are out in the open doesnt make it okay to trail a smoke cloud behind you and please stop accusing people who ask you why you are causing a health hazard for yourself and other people of being crazy.
The people who walk past and dont stop and report it to security or try to stop the kids if they see underage children smoking. Or stop older teenagers buying and passing cigarettes to underaged children which by the way is illegal!
Trouble is I can cite hundreds of more samples of BAD smoker behaviour and very few of responsible smoker behaviour.
I'm not the crazy illiterate illogical one but smokers ... apparently nicotine also causes brain damage?
Rights come with responsibilities.
When I see the majority of smokers behaving in a considerate manner then I'll stop complaining!
Frankly I think that's as likely as seeing a herd of unicrons charging thru the CBD!
