I'm not particularly interested in the current JSA plot but Alex Ross cover art always catches my eye! This one shot is worth getting since Alex Ross has not only done the cover but plotted written drawn and inked the ALL of the art Everything except the coloring!
And it's awesome! Strong powerful clean pencilling with good contrast of darks and lights that create both dimension and movement and connections.
But wait there's a extra treatment! A look at two of Alex's models ... yes he uses models unlike some comic "artists" who really need to ...and a look at his process from sketch thru first pencils to what the art looks like before its colored!
Whether you read Kingdom Come or follow JSA or are just a fan of Alex's art or want to learn about how a great comic is created buy this !
If you're an teacher of art or life drawing or illustration buy this to show your class the importance of drawing form models and how life drawing does still have practical applications!
It's educational and beautiful!
Unlike the strange and terrible mess that is Final Crisis plot and art wise!

Alex Ross has a wonderful ability to make character who should look ridiculous have gravitas and power and grace. He can even draw Power Girl and her infamous boobs without making me groan and go ack!
Pity he wasnt drawing and sorting out the mess that is hopefully Final Crisis!
